Hello!
My name is Emily and I am so glad you're here.

For much of my life, I was searching.
Searching for certainty. For belonging. For acceptance. For the safety and sense of home I believed everyone else seemed to have.
Like many people, I thought those things existed somewhere outside of me. In the next achievement. The next relationship. The next version of myself. If I could just figure out who I was supposed to be, maybe I would finally feel settled. Maybe I would finally feel enough.
Instead, I spent years trying to earn my place in the world.
I became who I thought others needed me to be. Helpful. Responsible. Accommodating. Successful. I learned how to care for others long before I learned how to trust myself.
Through it all, creativity remained a constant.
Whether it was painting, dancing, music, photography, sketchbooks, writing, or simply finding new ways to express myself, creativity became one of the few places where I felt most at home. It was where I could stop performing, stop striving, and reconnect with something that felt true.
Over time, I began to realize that many of the things I had spent years searching for weren't waiting for me somewhere else.
They were already here.
In the people I love.
In quiet mornings before the house wakes up.
In my daughters' laughter.
In a horse breathing softly into my hands.
In wildflowers growing where they weren't planted.
In fireflies at dusk.
In the ordinary moments I once rushed past while searching for something more.
Today, my work is rooted in that realization.
Through paintings, writing, and Paper & Paint, I explore wonder, authenticity, creativity, and the beauty of everyday life. My hope is not to teach or persuade, but to invite. To slow down. To notice. To remember.
I believe there is more beauty, meaning, and belonging in our lives than we often realize.
Sometimes we simply need a reminder to look for it.
Creativity has always been my way home to myself.
My work is an invitation to do the same.
